Sustainability and Responsibility Statement
At Copper Point Golf Club, we are committed to fostering an environment of sustainability and responsibility. Our mission is to offer an exceptional golfing experience while preserving the natural beauty and ecological integrity of our unique surroundings. By embracing these principles, Copper Point Golf Club is committed to being a responsible steward of the land, contributing to the well-being of the Columbia Valley, and ensuring that the future generations can enjoy the natural beauty and recreational opportunities our golf courses have to offer.
-
Environmental Stewardship
- We prioritize eco-friendly practices across all aspects of our operations. Our maintenance team uses advanced, sustainable turf management techniques to minimize water usage, reduce chemical inputs, and enhance soil health. Cleared areas can serve as a habitat for insects and small animals. By cultivating these areas, protected plant species compete less for important resources such as water and sunlight, which promotes their growth and biodiversity.
-
Wildlife Conservation
- Our golf courses are home to diverse wildlife. By preserving natural areas, we ensure that our courses coexist harmoniously with the local ecosystem. Numerous bird houses are located on both course to provide shelter and homes. Furthermore, we’ve incorporated native flower beds around the tee distance signs. These plants serve as excellent pollen sources for pollinators and contribute to increasing the biodiversity of the surrounding habitats.
-
Community Engagement
- We believe in the power of community and through partnerships and community events, we strive to inspire a shared commitment to sustainability.
-
Energy Efficiency
- Our facilities are equipped with energy efficient lighting and upgraded HVAC units and we continue to seek ways to incorporate reusable energy sources into our operations.
-
Waste Reduction
- Waste reduction is a core principle at Copper Point. We have implemented recycle programs and strive to minimize single use plastics. Composting organic waste from our kitchen and grounds further contribute to our goal of zero waste. We have implemented recycling bins for paper, plastics, cans, and general waste. This initiative extends to the clubhouse, maintenance areas, and halfway house facilities, ensuring that all waste is sorted to minimize landfill and incineration.
-
Continual Improvements
- We have joined the Geo Foundation to navigate our way through sustainability. We regularly review and refine our practices to ensure we are meeting and exceeding environmental standards. Feedback from our guests and community plays a crucial role in this process, as we aim to be leaders in sustainable golf course management.
